Smart shopping in virtual store

tesco homeplus opened a virtual grocery store in a south korea subway station, where users shop by scanning QR codes on their smartphones in a campaign designed by the seoul branch of advertising agency cheil, tesco homeplus supermarket opened last fall a virtual grocery store in a south korea subway station, permitting users to shop using their smartphones. a large, wall-length billboard was installed in the station, designed to look like a series of supermarket shelves and displaying images and prices of a range of common products. each sign also includes a QR code. users scan the code of any product they would like to purchase, thereby adding it to their online shopping cart. after the web transaction is completed, the products are delivered to the user’s home within the day. the strategy makes productive use of commuters’ waiting time, while simultaneously saving shoppers time spent going to the supermarket.

Cisco StyleMe: Virtual Fashion Mirror Inspires Sales Across All Age Groups

As early as 2008, networking giant Cisco was well along in its social media evolution. Cisco was visible on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Cisco won Light Reading’s 2010 Leading Lights Award for Best Marketing using social media and shaving approximately $100,000 off typical product launch costs. With validated network designs, proven products, and tailored partner solutions, Cisco helps retailers build a foundation for a consistent customer experience. Currently retailers are experiencing growing demand for interactive video content, social media capabilities and mobile connectivity in their stores, they know that customers who shop online and in the store tend to purchase more. Samsung applies its smartwatch technology to something you can wear to the gym

Alongside the new Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Samsung is expanding its line of wearable technology to include a fitness tracker. The new Gear Fit is a downsized version of its smartwatch siblings, with a focus on tracking your heart rate and counting your steps. It looks like a Samsung version of the popular wrist-worn Fitbit trackers, but with a larger screen and quite a few more functions. The display on the Gear Fit is the real draw: it's a rectangular, curved AMOLED touchscreen panel with characteristic-for-Samsung vibrant colors and exceptionally wide viewing angles. The curve in the display allows the Fit to conform around your wrist yet still have a large enough screen to make text readable and buttons easy to press with your finger. It's not the first product from Samsung to have a curved display, but it does feel like it's the first to actually benefit from its curvature. Plus it just looks cool. The Fit doesn't have the camera, microphone, or speaker of the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo,…
